Academic Intervention Services

Academic Intervention Services (AIS) supplement the general curriculum instruction to assist students in meeting the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards. The level of support for students varies and is designed to specifically meet each student's individual needs.

Student eligibility for AIS services is based on but not limited to achievement on diagnostic assessment given three times throughout the school year (I-ready), teacher requests based on classroom work, observations, and performance on assessments, and recommendations from the Response to Intervention Committee (RTI).

Academic Intervention Services (AIS) are designed to be highly personalized, provided in a 1:1 or small group setting. The support is given by certified staff, including classroom teachers, teaching assistants, and the school reading and math specialists, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
