Welcome to Mrs. Maric’s & Mrs. Velardo’s First Grade Class!

 

Our class is designed to meet the various needs of neurodivergent students and students with disabilities.  Our program is intended to highlight individual strengths and provide specialized instruction to support your child.  

 

Our programs include specialized reading instruction coupled with mainstreaming in the general education setting.  Our purpose is to meet the needs of the child based on their Individualized Education Plans and provide equal opportunities for academic success and growth.    

 

Our classroom encourages a growth mindset model where students are encouraged to take risks in their learning and recognize that mistakes help us learn.  The Integrated Co-Teaching Model provides students the opportunity to grow and learn from one another and  have access to the same curriculum regardless of language, learning and academic differences.  Our classroom provides enriching and challenging learning experiences for all.   Welcome!
